Chopper Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Popular Southern California Beach
An aircraft hovering above a popular southern California beach abruptly commenced twirling wildly, finally dropping height and plunging into a line of palm fronds as beachgoers looked on.
Footage posted on social media capture the helicopter beginning to twirl above the beach then falling near the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged amidst palm trees and a staircase near the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Information
The Huntington Beach fire department said five persons were taken to hospital including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” following the accident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Information on their injuries were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.

Authorities said the aircraft was connected to an annual “Cars with Copters” fundraising event planned for the next day.
