The Democratic Party have declined to endorse the Republican funding bill unless lapsing insurance support which they argue many laboring parents rely on are continued.

The Republican Party want Democrats to pass a short-term legislation initially and then they can negotiate the subsidies.

The GOP have 53 votes, they must secure sixty to enact the bill. Is it that challenging to reach agreement over seven votes so that US citizens aren't being hurt?

If this continues for another week or two, the bottom line is US citizens are being affected, the populace are being impacted by this and someone needs to step up to be the grown-up in the room.

I think sometimes lawmakers are so distant from ordinary citizens, the regular person managing daily affairs, so they overlook what the challenge is like and I believe they need to factor that in, notably if it's three-quarters of a million workers that are without income.

That's a significant number of people missing wages, that's a significant number of people not putting their earnings into the economy. Citizens are just being negatively impacted.

I'm going to be unaffected, but for others who needs the government, who hopes to tour a National Park or museum, they're going to be inconvenienced, if not now, then in the short term.

I don't see that this is going to resolve.
